Guillaume Faye: A Nouvelle Droite Philosopher (7 November 1949 – 7 March 2019)

It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing this night of Guillaume Faye. Though men of his calibre and courage can never live long enough, his name will not vanish with its bearer: Faye will be long remembered in the quality, vision, breadth and vividness of his words. His work has educated some of the best of today’s youths, who may well come to live the catastrophes that he foresaw and attempted to warn us against.

Faye sacrificed many things, including toward the end his health itself, for the future of Europe. His work was tireless and he never spared himself. Then may he rest in peace.

"The implantation of Judaeo-Christianity constituted an alien addition to pantheistic and polytheistic Europe. Hence her cultural and mental schizophrenia.

On the one hand, an egalitarian and universalistic Christian consciousness. On the other, a pagan, particularistic consciousness.

The scientific mentality developed in opposition to Judaeo-Christianity, in accord with her pagan spirit, but her political ideologies (egalitarian, cosmopolitan, progressive, individualistic) have taken a Judaeo-Christian turn.

The Marxist postulates animating the Left are, for example, a direct secularisation of Judaeo-Christian doctrines of salvation.

Similary, American hegemony and its "humanitarian" interventionism, like its market model of society, express a Protestant version of Judaeo-Christianity.

Traditional Catholicism, elaborated in the course of Middle Ages, was marked by a certain "paganisation of Judaeo-Christianity". In this sense, it's part of the integral European tradition, though it holds no monopoly over it.

For the resistance: what is to be done? A historic compromise is evidently possible between authentic pagans and those Catholics and Orthodox Christians who continue to practice traditional European Christianity.

But no resistance to the present offensive can be waged without appealing to the pagan soul, associated with the spirit of the two invincible pagan divinities, Apollo and Dionysus.

Paganism is the philosophic and/οr religious attitude, generally polytheistic and pantheistic, that is the antipode to the revealed salvation religions, to religious or secular monotheism, or to Western materialism.

An authentic pagan will always oppose a church transformed into a mosque, a bell tower into a minaret - even if an official prelate of the Church sanctions such a transformation."
