In the loneliness and the darkness...

"There is something that never tires me. To retire and sit alone in the woods, enjoying the darkness and the peace that reigns around me. In the loneliness and the darkness there is something majestic, something sacred. The difficulty to tolerate society is not the only reason why somebody struggles to move away from the others. Instead there is something else, something mystical about the feeling that embraces you when the Cosmos from a distance approaches you with a deafening whisper and when suddenly stands beside you and you find yourself, like it, at the center of the ubiquitous"

Knut Hamsun - "The Last Joy" (1912)

  1. Mountains and forests are very majestic, especially when you are wandering there alone. Carpathians are still very wild in many places.
